Nutritious Breakfast Ideas for the Lazy Girl
Go-To Nutritious Breakfast
Welcome to today’s blog post where I am going to give you my go-to list of nutritious breakfast ideas. Breakfast always sets the tone for my day & I love to start off with a healthy but fulfilling breakfast.
I used to skip breakfast in my 20’s…not now. I have to be able to have energy & focus! I like to eat after I’ve done a lot of my morning routine. I like to have already worked out, meditated, prayed, showered, etc. I love having the time to make the breakfast & enjoy it so that I am savoring every bite rather than shoving it down my throat in a hurry. Mindful eating.

My Must have Kitchen Items for EASY Breakfasts
1
Cast Iron Mini Skillet – The mini cast iron skillet is perfect for quick & easy breakfast for 1. It’s non-stick & makes it easy to make the perfect egg, pancake, sausage, etc. for the girl who hates cleaning multiple big pots & just wants a quick mess free way to feed one person. Bonus, it’s cast iron so toxin free!
2
Cast Iron Grill Top-I love using my grill top for when I am feeding the entire family. It makes it easy to get evenly cooked bacon, plus if I am feeling really frisky, I can usually make my bacon, eggs, & pancakes or whatever I am making, all at once without dirtying a bunch of pans!
3
Fruit Bowl-Now this one seems silly…but hear me out…the art of suggestion. If you place the basket somewhere you can always see it,(like your kitchen island), then you’re more likely to use it. I suggest always having a few of your favorite fruits so you always have the option to just grab & go. It also makes it easier to decide what to make with them!
4
Rubber Spatula-This one is specifically for your mini cast iron skillet… it just makes flipping what you’re cooking a little easier than those big bulky spatulas.
5
Toaster-This one is a given! If you have a toaster, you can make anything…toast, waffles, bagels, English muffins, etc. This just speeds everything up & is a staple in my kitchen. You can keep it simple or amp it up & get a fancy one, but even just a basic toaster is a must have!
5 Go-To Breakfast Ideas
- Avocado toast- This one is so versatile. Some add other stuff to spruce it up & some love to simply use avocado & everything bagel seasoning. Personally I like sprucing it up, I use the avocado minis because I don’t have to cut anything, I can just spread it over my toast. Typically, I like to add the avocado spread, top it with a dippy egg, feta cheese, salt/pepper, & A1 sauce. The possibilities are endless…
- Yogurt Parfait- Grab your favorite yogurt ( mine is Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt), top it with granola, chia seeds, fruit ( my favorite is raspberry), honey, & sometimes I even add a splash of milk! So yummy, healthy, cheap, & quick!
- Oatmeal- This can be overnight oats…or I love doing mine hot & adding to it! I use unflavored oats & then add brown sugar, butter, fruit (apples & cinnamon caramelized is my current fixation). Again, quick, yummy, nutritious…possibilities are endless!
- Protein waffles- I love going to the frozen foods & grabbing my Eggo sized protein waffles. I can pop them in the toaster making breakfast minimal time & effort! I usually top it off with Greek yogurt & pair it with chicken maple sausage. It is a great way to get that protein in without too much effort!
- Farm Style Breakfast- This classic breakfast is as old as time. We like to splurge with this breakfast when we have a little more time to spend in the mornings. Simple eggs. meat, home fries or hash browns, & toast. It is so delicious & a nice way to spend the morning with family!
In Summary…
Breakfast doesn’t have to be extravagant or take up the entire morning to be a nutritious & delicious meal! If you liked this blog & want more like this…please leave a comment & feel free to tell me some of your favs for breakfast!
